Scout XC Apache · Fairings

The Scout XC Apache features a sleek new fairing design with rugged strength and convenient storage space, and includes air induction vents for cooling.
The integrated canopy is perfectly sized and matched to the fairing for low drag and efficient wind deflection.

Fairing and finned Wheel Pants colors include Red, Yellow, White, or Black.  If you have another color choice, talk to us about a custom color trike for you.

Scout XC Apache · Avionics

The Scout XC Apache instrument panel area has ample space for gauges, electronic flight information systems, and many switches.

Analog gauges include a Fuel Level gauge at the far left side, and Airspeed Indicator on the right side.  A 12-volt power receptacle is included for powering GPS or other accessories.

Scout XC Apache · Dual Steering

This option is a must for the professional instructor.

Not only does it have dual steering, it also has a throttle linkage on the right front bar.  Our steering bar is made of 4130 steel, and can be used as a step to get into the back seat; some trike brands are too weak to do that.

Scout XC Apache · Back Frame

The most unique quality in the Apache design is the strong and durable welded chrome-moly and steel spine (back frame).  All other major trike parts either bolt on, or plug into this fixture.  This makes the Apache less expensive to repair and easy to work on.  If you happen to have an incident while training where you might damage the trike, less expensive parts may need to be replaced and not the main supporting structure.

Scout XC Apache · Dual Mast

The dual mast design of the Apache allows for unsurpassed headroom in the rear seat.  Most other trikes will force you to bend your neck forward to not to hit the center mast.

The pivot point of the dual mast is mounted low, making it super easy to mount the wing.

Scout XC Apache · Rear Suspension

The Scout XC features a dual pultuded fiberglass rod suspension.

The unique elliptical shape offers terrific flexing of the suspension upwards, while providing no flex to the rear.
Single fiberglass axles flex rearwards and wear the tires out.  The fiberglass suspension provides soft and positive landings.

Scout XC Apache · Disc Brakes

The new hydraulic disc brake system for the Scout XC trike is... awesome!
This brake system will provide smooth, positive braking while applying just 1/2 of the pressure needed with the drum brake.

If you have a drum brake or small mechanical disc brake, you can upgrade your existing Apache.  If you have the early 6" rim front end, you will also need a new 8" rim and tire.

Spring-assist Mast

Sore back?  Tired of lifting a 110-pound wing into the air?  The Apache can now be equipped with gas-assist springs to aid you in lifting your wing up!  No longer do you need to lift 100+ pounds into the air; with the springs attached, you will be lifting less than 20 pounds.
If you are ordering an Scout XC Apache, this option is included.  We also have a retro-fit kit for you, if you already have an Apache.

Scout XC Apache · Front Steering

Here you see the rugged yet keen design of the Apache's front fork and suspension system.  Its suspension (shocks) is of our own design, crafted of elastomer spring material such as used on commercial aircraft and mountain bikes.  You will appreciate the solid yet responsive feel of our trailing link system.  Best of all, the whole fork assembly is made of thick 6061 aluminum plates that bolt together.  If you may need parts, you can replace only what you need, rather than buying the whole front fork.

Scout XC Apache · Seating Features

The Scout XC Apache offers you a folding front seat back rest, allowing easy access to the rear seat.  Also notice the 3-point harness for the rear seat, and 4-point harness for the front.

Scout XC Apache · Fuel Filler

This is a nice feature.  After seeing the difficulty of adding fuel to most trikes, we had our own tank made.  This allows us to put the fuel filler in a most accessible place.

Scout XC Apache · Fuse Box

Our trikes that have electric start will come equipped with an electrical fuse box.  This box makes it very easy to add options, such as strobes and radios.  We also use only the highest quality "Keywest" regulator.

Why fly a quality North Wing?

The Scout XC Apache · Light Sport Trike airframe is a revolutionary design incorporating Scout aircraft design suspension, welded 4130 aircraft steel main structure (Back Frame), 4130 dual mast and trailing link front steering.  Unlike the tube-and-plate constructed trikes with their single mast, drag struts, side support cables and bungee cord suspension, the Scout XC airframe will maintain its structural integrity for years to come.  You can enjoy years of sturdy and confident flying knowing your trikes' rugged and well-designed suspension won't get worn out.

The Scout XC Apache can be ordered with a variety of options.  The Scout XC is certified as a Special Light Sport Aircraft when paired with the powerful and reliable Rotax 912 engine and our new Quest GT5 trike wing.  You can also fly the Scout XC as a Experimental Light Sport Aircraft when using any other engine and/or wing configuration.  The Scout XC Apache provides a nice layout of gauges with room left over for your custom needs.  Here you also see the rugged yet keen design of the Apache front fork wheel system.  You will appreciate the solid yet responsive feel of its trailing link suspension.  The front suspension works so well, it survived a full front wheel landing at 60 mph!

Notes from a Scout XC pilot...
"Kamron, a quick note to tell you how happy I am with my 912 Navajo M-Pulse II 15 M wing.  This is my 3rd Apache/Navajo and I couldn't be happier with it!  I've watched you improve your product over the years and it just keeps getting better and better.  My first Apache was a partnership deal with another new pilot and we beat the crap out of it with hard landings.  It is still a great trike and has never got "sloppy".  This trike had the old suspension, which in my opinion is far above the competition.  The new suspension is even better!  My buddy still flys it to this day and it is still "tight" and a very good trike.
I like your customer service and I'm a North Wing man or life!  Parts are relatively cheap and unlike the competition, arrive within a week or so.  Keep up the great work and thanks for your contributions to this exciting sport!"
