The Solairus Soaring Trike is a very streamlined and very portable, composite light soaring trike from North Wing.
Chrome-moly steel reinforcement adds strength to the fiberglass composite uni-body design, which includes Carbon Fiber reinforcement for rugged strength and light weight.

You can fly this trike with our strutted Solairus light trike wing, your hang glider (if sail area, airframe strength, and performance are adequate), or a paraglider wing designed for power.  The streamlined shape of the Solairus reduces drag and fuel consumption, with the engine almost completely enclosed within the trike.  Very portable - breaks down to 58" long - 24" wide - 33.5" high.

The Solairus Trike includes the Solairus Wing as standard equipment, featuring a strutted airframe that is very strong and the latest wing design for great handling and cruise performance - a perfect match for the Solairus trike.  The Solairus Wing has another feature for convenient travel or storage, the ability for the wing to Fold-Back while attached to the trike. The Solairus has a very streamlined uni-body design, and also includes Mast, Axle, and Rear Wheel Fairings for the lowest drag coefficient possible.  Choose from Red, Yellow, Black, or White body colors, or talk to us about a custom color. The Solairus trike body achieves its rugged strength from a combination of strong and lightweight materials.  4130 chrome-moly alloy steel reinforcement (excellent strength to weight ratio) adds strength to the fiberglass composite uni-body design, and includes Carbon Fiber reinforcement. The Solairus comes with a 2 blade Carbon Fiber Propeller propeller as standard equipment, maximizing performance and fuel economy for the Solairus Soaring Trike.  A Propeller Brake is included on the 2-stroke Polini engines to promote low-drag, engine-off soaring performance (not necessary on Bailey engines). The comfortable Seat on the Solairus secures the pilot with a 4-point Lap and Shoulder Harness.  You will appreciate the comfort of the seat during long flights. The Solairus trike frame has four settings for pilots of varying height, so you can adjust the length of the frame for a perfect fit. The Solairus features a front brake pedal mounted to the forks for control while on the runway. The Solairus hand throttle is conveniently located to the left of the pilot. The Solairus includes a 3 gallon Fuel Tank with Fuel Filter, with an adjacent Sight Tube for checking fuel level. The Solairus includes strong and lightweight 5" Nylon Wheels, with Wheel Fairings on the rear wheels. The fiberglass rear suspension on the Solairus is designed for durable, rugged strength while keeping weight low.
