The Light Sport Aircraft Kit from North Wing includes an Assembly Manual to guide you through Trike and Wing Construction. The manual includes instructions for each phase of assembly, Tools Required, Schematic Diagrams with exploded views of parts involved, and Parts Lists for the parts required during assembly.
The Mustang 3 strutted wing is a "State of the Art" topless (no king post) light sport aircraft wing, designed with side struts that take the place of the upper cable rigging. Pitch stability of the wing is achieved by a sprog and washout strut at the wing tip area. Choose a 15M wing, 17M, or 19M - the Mustang 3 is a joy to fly!
The Apache has a very streamlined fairing with integrated tall windshield that provides very efficient wind deflection with low drag. Choose from Red, Yellow, Black, or White fairing colors, or talk to us about a custom color.
The Navajo has a streamlined Instrument Pod, front wheel fender, and saddlebags for storage. Available colors include Red, Yellow, White, or Black. The streamlined profile of the Instrument Pod reduces drag.
The Light Sport Aircraft Kit has engine mounts available for either the ROTAX 912UL or ROTAX 582E engines.
The Light Sport Aircraft Kit features a strong and rugged 7075 Aluminum Leaf Spring Suspension. The leaf-spring suspension reduces drag with its slim profile, and its strength eliminates the need for the additional drag struts and load springs. This innovative new suspension design provides soft and positive landings.
The Light Sport Aircraft Kit features Aircraft-grade Matco Brakes as standard equipment, ensuring very efficient braking while on the runway.
You can use the Adjustable Front Seat to conveniently change the position of the Front Seat, very handy for flight training.
The adjustable seat offers 4" of travel.
The Kit includes a large 13.5-gallon Fuel Tank (12.75 gallons usable). After seeing the difficulty of adding fuel to most trikes, we had our own tank made. This allows us to put the fuel filler in very accessible location.
The Front Fork and suspension system has been further improved by the addition of an adjustable Steering Dampener to minimize front-end shimmy during fast landings or crosswinds. Its suspension (shocks) is of our own design, crafted of elastomer spring material such as used on commercial aircraft and mountain bikes. Best of all, the whole fork assembly is made of thick 6061 aluminum plates that bolt together, so parts can be easily replaced if necessary after a hard landing. Parking Brake included.
The Airfoil Mast reduces drag, and improves tracking at higher speeds by reducing yaw and twist of the mast by the stronger, more aerodynamic mast profile. Raising the mast is very easy and light, with the integrated spring-assist.
The Pivot/Hang Block has a smooth design that ensures a snug fit of trike to wing.
The light sport aircraft includes both Hand and Foot Throttle, with Throttle Cables included in the kit.
The Mustang 3 Wing folds back while still mounted to the aircraft, for your convenience. This is a great feature for wind-protection between flights, and saves space when in the hangar and during trailer transport.
The Kit includes Carlisle 15 x 6 Tires, and optional Air-Trac Aircraft Tires are available as an upgrade.
